Innovation hubs are engines of technological progress. They drive advanced research, foster professional communities, and accelerate growth across key industries. Projects like these are particularly important for Russia, addressing the need for qualified talent, technological sovereignty, and unlocking the potential in biotechnology, agrotech, and IT.
Gelendzhik was selected for this project due to its unique natural setting and developed infrastructure. Its mild climate (270 sunny days a year) and picturesque landscape create ideal conditions for innovation.
Key advantages of the region include a modern airport, the country’s largest marina for 300 yachts currently under construction, and the city’s dynamic growth fueled by large-scale investment projects.
The Black Sea is a strategic transportation hub connecting Russia with markets in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
The name High Bay (High-Tech Bay) reflects the unique geography and meaning of the location. From above, Gelendzhik Bay resembles a human brain, symbolically highlighting its role as a magnet for innovation and creative minds.
The concept is centered around the idea of a bay — a protected and safe harbor for ships. Likewise, the High Bay innovation center will serve as a secure and reliable environment for science, startups, and investments.
The concept is centered around the idea of a bay — a protected and safe harbor for ships. Likewise, the High Bay innovation center will serve as a secure and reliable environment for science, startups, and investments, uniting three key areas: information technology, biotechnology, and agricultural technology.
The architecture features simple, contrasting concrete forms set against the mountain landscape. The central feature of the hub is the science and education building, covering around 40,000 square meters.
The building’s facade is made of kinetic panels composed of numerous dynamic elements that continuously shift positions, creating the effect of a living, ever-changing object.
High Bay encompasses an ecosystem extending over 100 hectares. The site offers ideal conditions for living and working, with two residential neighborhoods covering 160,000 square meters.
Amenities include restaurants, sports facilities, an educational campus, a business center, specialized laboratories, and manufacturing facilities such as a robotics center, plant cloning laboratory, agro-pharma tech complex, warehouses, and equipment garages.
The visual identity of High Bay is minimalist yet symbolic. The logo — a stylized letter H — represents the project’s name and the distinctive shape of the main building when viewed from above.
The brand colors, white and light gray, reflect technological sophistication, clarity, innovation, and harmony with the natural landscape.
